Joachim on the Eucharistic Words

Joachim Jeremias says that a better translation of "Do this in remembrance of me" would be "This do, that God may remember me." (The Eucharistic Words Of Jesus, 251ff)

    What do you say? Does "better" mean "more accurate Greek" or "more harmonious with Old Testament covenants"?

    The way I render it in our liturgy here is: "Do this as my memorial." The doing it itself the memorial of Jesus before the Father.
