New Music

So tell me...

If I were to download one new song today... what should it be?

What if I downloaded two?

Robert Randolph and The Family Band - "Shot of Love" (as in their cover of the Dylan classic)

That's hard. I'd say anything by The Tallest Man on Earth, Dr. Dog, or The Avett Brothers.

Psalm 137 by Sons of Korah (from their Redemption Songs album)

For a second? I Hung My Head by Johnny Cash.

Go here: http://music.sufjan.com/album/the-age-of-adz
You can grab two of the songs for free, though "Age of Adz", "Get Real, Get Right", and "Vesuvius" are superb. You don't even need to download them, come to think of it—the whole thing's streaming right there. Best record of 2010.
Elsewhere on the spectrum, The Maldives' "Blood Relations" is something spectacular.

I don't know what genres you like. But my recent favorite is "After the Storm" by Mumford and Sons. They're a British band; the lead singer's parents are leaders of the Vineyard churches in the UK. The whole cd is very Christian in theme.

'Concerning Toxicodendronradicans PartI' by Andrew and Noah VanNorstrand, from their CD 'A Certain Tree'

'Orphan Girl' by Crooked Still, from their CD 'Hop High'

'Little Trees' and 'Pull Up a Chair' by Nathan Clark George from his CD 'Pull Up a Chair'

Don't know if you are familiar with Derek Webb. "New Law" from his Mockingbird album would be my suggestion...

If one, then "Barton Hollow" by The Civil Wars. If the budget allows, get the whole album.
