What He Said

I'm putting some toys away with my son when he looks up with his eyebrows signalling concern.

"Dad?"
"Yes?"
"Sometimes I eat baby soap."
"Oh. Does it taste good?"
"Yeah. I really like it."
"Huh. Ok."

We some sort of berry scented liquid soap in our bathroom, and Madeline thought she would try that out. I heard her spitting into the sink and was pretty sure I knew why. She came out smelling very pretty. She told me that it smelled like candy, but it didn't taste like candy.

Play ball, River! Your Uncle Jeremy looks like that when he's up to bat. I don't think eating soap will help you play better though! That dish is only reserved for when you talk naughty.

Hi River!

Bugs are better than soap...we can try ants, spiders, or flys.

They are, of course, better if they are dipped in chocolate first.

We have Irish Spring soap...do you
like that one?
